Nestled along the shores of Frenchman Bay with sweeping views of Cadillac Mountain and Mount Desert Island, Gull Rock Pottery is inspired by the natural majesty and quiet tranquility of its coastal surroundings. Every piece we create is a reflection of this environment—functional, enduring, and deeply tied to traditional craftsmanship.

Whether wheel-thrown or slab-constructed, all of our stoneware is completely oven and dishwasher safe, designed to bring both beauty and practicality into daily life.

The Artistry

Our predominant aesthetic features classic blue and white brush designs that evoke timeless coastal palettes. In addition to these signature patterns, we frequently work with rich rust-brown and subtle celadon glazes to add depth and warmth to our pottery.

Beyond our standard functional lineup, we take pride in crafting individualized dinnerware place settings, limited editions, one-of-a-kind art pieces, and custom-ordered works tailored specifically to our collectors.

The Studio Experience

Visiting our studio at 103 Gull Rock Road is as much about the journey as it is about the pottery. Tucked away from the busier paths, our studio and gallery invite visitors to slow down, take in the breathtaking views across the bay, and experience firsthand where and how our stoneware comes to life.
